"Sansha" rebranding

Rebranding "Sansha"
Ballet pointe shoe and apparel company
Sansha shoes were originally produced in the small Chinese village of Sansha under Mr. Franck Raoul Duval in 1982. Since then it has taken the international market as one the biggest dance suppliers, working directly with the shoemakers and listening to the dancers’ requirements and using the products themselves from practice to the stage.

My goal with this rebranding was to take Sansha from its previous generic supplier feel to it’s true identity as a strong brand on the market, rivaling the likes of Bloch and Capezio. I wanted to tie it to beyond celebrity (a common marketing method in the dance world) and onto encompassing the dancer archetype - the highest essence of which any dancer would look up to in his or her own interpretation of what that would mean; focusing on the artful elegance within the athleticism required of dancers.

This direction was largely inspired by Shanna Le Fleur's quote:
“It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer.”
